CARE

Welcome to the official Truce Bulletin – here you will find weekly posts exploring food, care, diet, overall health, and more.

We’d like to begin with a description of our care philosophy as well as what to expect from future posts.

When we say ‘care’ we are referring to a broad and love-filled practice. Many of you may be familiar with the term self-care, and while that does encompass the majority of what we plan to talk about, it is important to keep in mind that caring for yourself has a profound effect on everyone and everything around you, and a critical element of self-care is learning how to lovingly and effectively communicate and interact with those in your life. Our personal philosophy is that if you treat yourself with love and respect, take time to relax, and pursue activities that make you feel refreshed and grounded, it will help you approach everything with an open mind and open heart.

The goal of self-care is to explore various techniques and practices and to identify ones that feel right for you. A care routine can be as simple as waking up every morning 5 minutes early to enjoy a quiet moment before the day starts; it can also be as detailed as you want, with weekly massage, daily meditation, skin care practices, etc. Caring for yourself is as diverse a practice as each of our individual personalities. The key is to make a commitment to doing something just for you and to stick with it as long as it feels right.

In future posts, we will suggest various care techniques and practices that we have personally tried. While we believe that philosophies and general recommendations are nice, we also believe in offering real and applicable care assistance... things you can apply and practice in your day-to-day life; hands-on suggestions you can walk away from our posts knowing how to try.

Please remember that everything we choose to write about here are merely suggestions and that there is never one right answer for everyone. We will attempt to stick to recommendations and care practices that anyone can try, and if there are requests for topics, please let us know. Thanks to each and every one of you for taking time to honor the importance of caring for YOU!
